Introducing.... #Vote4Me!


#Vote4Me is a single player Social Network/Political simulator, Managerial game developed for mobile platforms running Android and iOS.

The player will impersonate a candidate for the presidential elections.

The main goal of the player is to gather as many likes as possible to win the poll, being careful not to spend all of the budget and to make the right choices to improve the winning chances.

Each match is divided into weeks and for each one of them players have to express their opinion on different topics. In order to submit their decision the player has to interact with posts on the homepage of the app and the electorate will vote according to the public’s preference. Moreover, plates have to interact with events that will reward them some perks, which may be positive or negative.

The game will last until the elections are over, when the player runs out of money or when the player is hit by a big scandal.

#Vote4Me was designed and developed for an University course in the span of 6 months in a team of 5

Since it was born from a concept of mine, I was the leader of the team, so I focused on the high design concept, team management, work organization, task assignment, and delivering the game vision. 

It's an uncommon kind of game that started from a foolish, playful idea that was fun to work on.


#Vote4Me is the first mobile game i developed, it was an exciting but challenging project. Over the six months of development, we encountered several issues, and I'll share some of the key problems we faced along with the solutions we adopted:

 

  • Roles and Responsibilities:

Team members were uncertain about their specific roles and responsibilities, leading to confusion and duplication of efforts.
I clearly defined roles and responsibilities for each team member. Utilized project management tools to outline tasks and assign them based on individual strengths and expertise. Regularly updated the team on any changes in roles. Adjusted task assignments and workloads based on resource availability.
 

  • Deliver the Game Vision:

I defined and communicated the core vision and goals of the game. Created a vision document that served as a reference point for the team, any significant changes was communicated transparently to the team. Encouraged a shared sense of ownership and commitment to the overarching vision. Encouraged discussions to ensure everyone shared a common understanding of the game's direction. Conducted regular vision alignment sessions to ensure that the team stayed focused on the core goals.
 

  • Time Management:

I introduced a project timeline with clear milestones. Encouraged the use of time-tracking tools to monitor progress and identify potential bottlenecks. Provided support to team members facing challenges in meeting deadlines.
 

  • Communication Breakdowns:

I Established a centralized communication platform for project-related discussions. Made regular check-ins and status updates. Emphasized the importance of proactive communication and encouraged team members to ask questions and seek clarification promptly.
